How to take your smart home when you move
The best part of a renter smart home is that it moves with you. A little planning makes moving day clean and your deposit safe.
Uninstall cleanly
Peel strips slowly (a little heat helps), unplug plugs, unscrew bulbs, and remove the retrofit lock to reinstall the original thumbturn.
Restore the space
Patch any tiny adhesive marks and put back original fixtures and bulbs you swapped out.
Reset and reconnect
Factory-reset devices, then reconnect them to your new WiFi at the next place.
